Brixton Hill

Bollard No.16 to give it its full title.

In its previous existence, this piece worked round the clock, making sure drivers got in the right lane before heading south up Brixton Hill, no doubt saving countless lives. I didn’t see the accident, but I saw it smashed up by the side of the road on my way home from work .

Once patched up,  I painted on it the view it saw; Looking north past Lambeth Town Hall through Brixton up towards the Shard in the distance, and on into the light of new day.

92cm x 35cm x 8cm. Spray paint, acrylics, LED lights, salvaged traffic bollard.
